Besides the campground's own attractions, there are also many cultural and educational visits that offer a glimpse into the history of the area.
In Estivella you can visit the Plá del Ocio, the Font de Barraix, the
18th century Sants Joans Parochial Church, and the 15th century aqueduct, which
still functions today. And a must-see is the Beselga Castle: visible from the
campground, it is a true vestige of the Low Middle Ages.
Just 10 kilometres from the campground is Sagunto, one of the most historical
cities on the Mediterranean. From the Sierra Calderona campground, you can also
hike to El Puig, a spot that is famous for the 15th century Santa María
del Puig monastery and the Printing and Graphic Art Museum. Also worth a visit
is the nearby town of Torres-Torres, where you will find an historical castle
and the most well-preserved Arab baths in the Community of Valencia. The neighbouring
town of Gilet is home to the Santo Espíritu convent. Other highlights
of the area include the 14th century mediaeval tower in Benavites and the Lords'
Palace in Albalat dels Tarongers.
Other interesting natural destinations include the Sierra de Espadán,
the Regajo reservoir, the Almenara pools, the Quart de les Valls springs, and,
in the Vall d' Uixó, the longest underground river in Europe.
Only 10 minutes away are the beaches of Sagunto and Canet d' en Berenguer, with
a sporting harbour.
